Process Narrative
In this course, we talk about audience, ethos, argument, and persuasion—but we don’t want to ignore the value of real-life examples and personal experience. Write about a time when you changed your mind about something. What convinced you to “change sides?” What did you believe previously? How did you come to your new conclusion? Did someone present evidence or personal testimony, or were you emotionally swayed? Is it possible to pin down the moment or situation in which you changed your mind and why? Think about the different ways that direct experience can persuade you of something. How might your direct experience be used to persuade others? Your responses here do not have to deal with our course theme, but if they do, please share!
Due: Complete Blog Prompt 3 entry by MON (2/9) at noon. You DO NOT need to respond to other entries before class. Instead, you will be allotted class time to respond to each other’s blogs.
